Frequently asked questions about renting from Sakura Rent A Car
Can I rent a car without an international driver’s license?
Yes. It is possible to rent a car without your international driver’s license, but, if you are involved in an accident where police enforcement has to fill out an accident report, it may require extra time and hassle for processing. Driving without your international driver’s license is not against the law but it is highly recommended you bring it with you when planning to rent a car. Please contact us for more information.
Can I rent a car using my passenger’s credit card rather than my own card?
Yes. You can rent a car using your passenger’s credit card, however, your passenger will need to be present with you to sign for his or her credit card upon arrival.
Can you bring the rental car to my hotel?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot drop off the rental car at your hotel. We will, however, offer to pick you up at your hotel (within a 2 mile radius of LAX) and take you to our nearby car rental office free of charge.
Are all cars automatic?
Yes. We carry only car models with automatic transmissions.
Can I request a specific car make and model?
No. You may request a model in some categories, but you are not guaranteed a specific make, model or color. If the vehicle you requested is not available at the time of service, an equivalent vehicle of the same type (sedan, minivan, passenger van, small or large SUV, hatchback, compact, 4-door, etc.) and passenger capacity will be provided for you.
Can you include a surfboard carrier on my rental car?
No. We do not offer surfboard carriers at this time but customers may attach their own to our rental cars. We may also have a particular car that can accommodate your surfboard without the carrier attachment, so please consult with us at time of booking.
Will children be included in the capacity of a car?
Yes. Children (including babies) will be counted as regular passengers.
Can I rent a car if I’m under 25 years old?
Yes. We rent cars to drivers that are 21 years of age or older. An additional fee will apply to customers who are 21 to 24 years old which is much lower than our competitors’ rates.
How far in advance should I reserve my rental car?
As soon as possible. During our busy season we may not have a car available if you call even a month in advance. We recommend you call us as soon as you know your travel schedule so we can accommodate your needs.
Does a GPS navigation system come standard in your rental cars?
No. But we can add GPS in your car rental package for only an additional $4.99 per day. Various languages are available.
