LOST AND FOUND

ACCIDENTS

In the event an accident occurs involving your rental car, please notify the police, emergency services and Sakura Rent a Car.

1. Immediately Report the Accident to the Police

We recommend you carry a mobile phone in case of emergency. If you are involved in an accident, please call 911 for assistance and emergency services. Calling from a mobile phone will allow you to stay at the scene of the accident and discourages the other party involved from attempting to leave the scene before the police arrive. If you do not have a mobile phone, please call 911 from a nearby public or pay phone. If possible, have someone stay at the scene to help ensure all involved remain at the accident until emergency services arrive.

3. Answer The Police Officer’s Questions About The Accident

When the police arrive, please follow their instructions. The officer will ask you for your driver’s license and rental contract and will take statements from all drivers involved in the car accident to determine if a police report is necessary. If you have problems communicating with police or others involved in the accident, our bilingual car rental agents will help interpret. If a police report is issued, please bring a copy with you when you return your rental car.

Be sure to obtain all insurance information including the company, policy number and any insurance agent contact information the driver can provide. Photograph damage to your car and the other cars involved in the accident. This will help document the damage when you submit an accident claim to the insurance company.
